Normally a two day event this years Cambridge volleyball tournament was reduced to a single day after the organisers struggled to find an alternative venue while the normal one was being renovated. Being so close MK City decided to send a team anyway and a mixed team was assembled to enter Division II.
The team comprised of Layne Walker, Richard Billington, Neil Bell, Matthew Gough, Corinn Smith, Alexa Smith and Anne Clansey. |

The initial pool of 4 teams was won by MK City with some big hits by Matt and Layne backed up by some good all-round play. The winners of the pool entered a three team round-robin with the other pool winners. The top placed side in this pool would be declared winners.
MK City won their first game while our opponents then lost their next game, leaving a single game 'final' to decide the winners. Although a close match MK City went on to lose the final but runners up and great weather ensured a good day out for all that attended. |
